The assignment follows a unique 24-hour rotation:
- Work one 24-hour shift
- One shift off
- Work one 24-hour shift
- Five consecutive days off
Approximately every 6th and 8th week
, there will be a short week where you will work only one 24-hour shift
.
- 7:00 AM 10:00 PM: On post at the hospital
- 10:00 PM 6:00 AM: Rest period
During the rest period, you must remain ready and able to respond to an emergency call received through 911 or from the hospital
.
A designated rest space is available in a building next to the hospital.
On-Call: There is no separate scheduled "on-call" requirement. However, there are currently open shifts that may provide opportunities to pick up additional shifts.
JOB SUMMARYThe Paramedic (EMT-P) will provide emergency medical services to the local community and surrounding service areas.
The Paramedic will follow all directives provided by the EMS Coordinator and Medical Director and will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate emergency medical services are delivered safely and effectively.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES- Operate and maintain ambulances in accordance with Wyoming state laws and applicable EMS policies and procedures.
- Provide emergency medical care and patient treatment within the Paramedic scope of practice.
- Assist with patient care in accordance with applicable EMS policies and procedures.
- Assess patients and determine appropriate emergency interventions.
- Provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) when required.
- Respond to 911 emergency calls and hospital requests.
- Monitor and reassess patients throughout care and transport.
- Maintain accurate patient care documentation.
- Maintain ambulance equipment and supplies in a safe and operational condition.
- Work effectively with other EMS, healthcare, and emergency response personnel.
- Recognize personal limitations and request assistance as necessary to ensure safe patient care.
- Follow all applicable EMS protocols, safety procedures, and medical direction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Candidates must have:
- Current National Registry EMT-P / Paramedic (NRP) certification with Compact eligibility OR Current Wyoming EMS Paramedic License
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLSc Certification
- Current PALS Certification
The following certifications are required to be completed within 30 days of employment if not already held:
- ICS 100
- ICS 200
- ICS 700
