This role serves as the pharmacy clinical expert, providing specialized pharmaceutical care and optimizing medication therapy to achieve the best patient outcomes. Responsibilities include evaluating and monitoring drug therapy, collaborating with the healthcare team, supervising pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with all pharmacy regulations, and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with one weekend shift per month from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The role also includes participation in an on-call rotation during assigned weekends and 2 to 3 weekdays per week.

Platte County Memorial Hospital offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, including an Outpatient Clinic which brings in more than 20 of the region's top physicians in nine different medical specialties to help care for southeast Wyoming residents. A $16 million renovation created a new inpatient wing, surgical suite, and diagnostic imaging departments while making enhancements to the emergency department and laboratory.

This position is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients using the medication use process. This position is accountable for documentation of all components of pharmaceutical care they deliver to patients. Oversees the activities of pharmacy technicians and interns, coordinating workflow and approving medications prior to being dispensed. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served.

Must assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements and provide pharmaceutical care based on those needs. Adheres to local, state, and federal laws regarding the profession of pharmacy practice.
