Description

Part‑Time Food Service Worker needed to support Catering and Special Events

Pay: $16.50 to $18.00 depending on experience

Jamestown Community College is seeking a motivated Part‑Time Food Service Worker to support Catering and Special Events. This role is a great opportunity to contribute to memorable campus events and elevate the dining experience for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities
  • Set up, serve, and break down catering setups for campus events and functions
  • Assist with food preparation, portioning, and presentation under the direction of catering staff
  • Deliver friendly, professional service to students, faculty, staff, and guests
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary work areas in compliance with food safety standards
  • Transport food, equipment, and supplies to event locations across campus as needed
  • Collaborate with the dining team to ensure events run smoothly and on schedule
What we're looking for
  • Positive, team‑oriented attitude with a passion for hospitality
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for special events
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Prior food service, catering, or hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • Serv Safe certification a plus; training may be provided

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior food service or school cafeteria experience is a plus.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, noisy school cafeteria environment.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must pass all background checks and comply with school and company health and safety requirements.
