HR Manager, HR Generalist / Talent Management, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Grand Targhee Resort is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Human Resources to join our executive leadership team. This role is responsible for shaping and executing the resort's people strategy while fostering a high-performing culture that supports our employees, guests, and long-term business objectives.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the VP of Human Resources serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and oversees all aspects of human resources, employee housing strategy, organizational development, talent management, employee relations, compliance, and workforce planning.
This is an opportunity for a collaborative leader who can think strategically while remaining connected to day-to-day operations in a dynamic, year-round resort environment.
What You’ll Do:Strategic Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness
- Serve as a key member of the Senior Staff team, helping shape organizational strategy, business priorities, and long-term growth initiatives.
- Advise and influence executive leadership on organizational effectiveness, workforce strategy, leadership capability, culture, and change management.
- Align people strategies with business objectives to drive operational performance, employee engagement, and organizational success.
- Lead organizational design, workforce planning, and succession strategies that position the resort for sustained growth and future talent needs.
- Build and execute organizational talent strategies that strengthen leadership capability, succession readiness, and workforce effectiveness.
- Develop a high-performing leadership culture through executive coaching, leadership development, and performance management practices.
- Ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains the talent necessary to achieve strategic objectives in a competitive labor market.
- Champion a values-driven culture that promotes accountability, collaboration, innovation, and exceptional service.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention, and organizational commitment across a diverse and seasonal workforce.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on complex employee relations and organizational challenges.
- Lead workforce risk management strategies related to talent, leadership succession, employee relations, compliance, and organizational change.
- Ensure sound governance practices, ethical employment standards, and compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Partner with senior leadership to strengthen organizational resilience, business continuity, and long-term workforce sustainability.
- Provide strategic leadership for all Human Resources and Employee Housing functions.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing HR team focused on delivering exceptional service and measurable business impact.
- Maintain operational awareness across all HR functions and provide hands‑on leadership during peak business periods and critical organizational needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including senior‑level leadership responsibilities.
- Proven experience partnering with executive teams to drive business results through people strategies.
- Strong background in organizational development, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, and leadership development.
- Demonstrated success leading organizational change and business transformation initiatives.
- Deep knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- SHRM‑SCP, SHRM‑CP, PHR, SPHR, or similar certification strongly preferred.
- Hospitality, resort, recreation, or seasonal workforce experience preferred.
