GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
As a Human Resources Generalist, you'll play a key role in ensuring employees have the support they need throughout their employment journey—from recruitment and onboarding to payroll, benefits, and employee services.
This position provides HR support for Wyoming's Aging Facilities, including the Veterans' Home of Wyoming, the Wyoming Pioneer Home, and the Wyoming Retirement Center. The office for this position may be located at either the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin or the Wyoming Pioneer Home in Thermopolis, with occasional travel between the two facilities.

- Manage the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, personnel actions, and offboarding.
- Process monthly payroll, review timecards, audit payroll records, and ensure timely and accurate payroll submissions.
- Administer employee benefits, retirement, leave programs, and new hire enrollment.
- Coordinate recruitment activities through NEOGOV, including posting jobs, processing applicants, referrals, and candidate communications.
- Maintain employee records and process personnel transactions in CGI and other HR systems.
- Assist employees and supervisors with HR policies, payroll, benefits, and employment-related questions.
- Process FMLA paperwork and refer complex leave or ADA matters to the Aging Facilities HR Manager.
- Maintain payroll and position tracking records while ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Participate in statewide HR and payroll initiatives, including collaboration with the Wyoming Department of Health Payroll Team.
- Monitor the Aging Facilities HR inbox and provide timely, professional customer service to employees and partner agencies.
- Knowledge of federal employment laws, including ADA, EEOC, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Knowledge of Wyoming Personnel Rules, Executive Orders, and payroll practices.
- Knowledge of HR principles, employee relations, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and HR information systems.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Human Resources)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Resources) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Human Resources Associate II
OR
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Resources) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Human Resources Associate II

- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc.
