Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager/Head Butcher to oversee the daily operations of our meat processing plant. The ideal candidate will have 5–20 years of experience in meat processing and management, with a deep understanding of butchering techniques, quality control, and staff leadership. As the General Manager/Head Butcher, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and leading a dedicated team to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations of the meat processing plant, including production, quality control, inventory management, and staff supervision.
- Manage and mentor a team of butchers and support staff, providing training and guidance to ensure high standards of performance and safety.
- Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment and facilities to ensure proper maintenance and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality meat products and negotiate favorable terms.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to product quality or service.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Develop and manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost‑effective operations.
- Minimum of 10–20 years of experience in meat processing, with a strong background in butchering and plant management.
- Proven experience in managing teams, with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of meat processing techniques, food safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using meat processing equipment and technology.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial management.
