Daily Substitute Teacher - Secondary Grade Level

SummaryThe ideal candidate will support the flexible programs and classroom environments favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge according to each student’s ability; and develop good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
Duties/Responsibilities- Reviews and implements lesson plans
- Mentors and engages students
- Gives clear instructions and helps students understand the lesson
- Maintains discipline and control of the classroom
- Fosters a safe and nurturing learning atmosphere
- May record and grade quizzes, homework, projects, and exams
- Observes and follows school and Edustaff policies
- Regular and Predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
- Transcripts with a total of 60+ credit hours and a minimum 2.0 GPA from accredited colleges/universities
- Temporary Teaching Authorization
- Current Michigan Teaching Certificate (Substitute Permit not required)
- Expired Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Out-of-State Teaching Certificate accompanied by an undergraduate transcript from a two-year or four-year accredited college/university showing 60
* credit hours and a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Pay Rate: $150 per day
- Employment will be with Edu Staff
- Full Time - School Days/ School Calendar
- Ability to use technology in the educational setting.
- Knowledge and experience related to English Learners.
- Education experience and/or training in teaching elementary school students.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust/focus
Work EnvironmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work is performed indoors, although there will be required outdoor activities. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and work output of students.
Cognitive FunctionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing in the English language, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, and compile and negotiate.
