The Drafter will be responsible for providing engineering support on mechanical equipment, perform tolerance studies and check design documentation, research and specify purchased component parts, and create component and system level test plans and test fixtures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete basic drawing tasks as assigned by engineering group
  • Assist in calculations required to complete work assignments
  • Verify and check drawings and parts lists for accuracy
  • Assist in systems development as required, such as drafting standards, parts list systems, computer programming
  • Make parts lists and detail drawings when required
  • Support Engineers on design projects
  • Conceptualize mechanical design solutions
  • Perform and/or supervise creation of design layouts
  • Perform and/or supervise creation of detail drawings
  • Create engineering reports documenting design efforts and results
  • Perform other work related task as required as assigned
  • Comply with all DNOW Company and HSE procedures and policies
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures to ensure the safe work environment of themselves, fellow employees, customers, vendors and other Distribution

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors of Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of applicable 2D and 3D engineering software
  • Minimum 1+ year of mechanical engineer experience
  • E.I.T. Engineer APEGA Certified
  • Product line knowledge
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Competent in, with the ability to utilize, AutoCAD, Solid Works, Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work in a high pace environment
