Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Wyoming, MI

Salary Range: $63,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Deliver EHS training programs to employees on various topics, including hazard communication and emergency response.
• Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, labeling, and disposal.
• Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare regulatory reports as required.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
• 3-5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and develop corrective actions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of training and influencing personnel at all levels.
• Experience with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 implementation and maintenance.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP).
• Proficiency in EHS software platforms (e.g., Cority, Intelex, Gensuite).
• Experience conducting industrial hygiene monitoring and assessments.
