Laser Weld Engineer | Wyoming, MI
Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Wyoming that are seeking skilled Laser Weld Engineers. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
- Design and implement laser weld tooling and fixtures.
- Troubleshoot laser welding equipment and process issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis for weld defects and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure weld quality and manufacturability.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
- Evaluate and recommend new laser welding technologies and equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes and applications within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of laser welding principles, including laser types, beam delivery systems, and process parameters.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot welding defects, optimize processes, and implement corrective actions.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and weld symbols.
- Experience with ultrafast lasers and their application in manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with in-situ monitoring techniques for weld quality and process control.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement advanced data analytics for process optimization and fault detection.
- Knowledge of material science, particularly related to dissimilar material joining and high-temperature alloys.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
