Role

Summary:

Reporting to the Purchasing and Pricing Manager, the Buyer is responsible for the procurement of merchandise for distribution following company procedures and practices. It will require a blend of skills and experience focused on procurement and inventory control of thousands of SKU’s at 42 branches. The Buyer will set and define proper inventory levels and ensure reasonable turns based on sales.

Buyer must possess a sound knowledge of procurement procedures and technical knowledge of the items purchased.
** Exciting work you will do:
** The essential duties and responsibilities of the Buyer position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
* Assemble purchase orders
* Use computer data to record, edit and control the purchasing process
* Maintain positive relationship with vendors
* Update pricing in ERP system
* Assist Sales Department with inventory-related inquiries
* Review inventory turns and surplus and make order point adjustments as needed
* Perform credit adjustments
* Review stagnant inventory and work with sales team and vendors to find creative ways to turn
* Support and back up the purchasing department
* Part number description review and clean up
* Other duties as assigned
