What You'll Do

As a Lead Swiss-Style Machinist
, you'll serve as the technical expert for Swiss machining operations while helping maximize productivity, quality, and machine performance. You'll lead by example through technical excellence, problem solving, and mentorship.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complete setup, changeover, and optimization of Swiss-style CNC lathes
  • Independently troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and quality issues
  • Optimize cycle times while maintaining tight tolerances and exceptional quality
  • Select tooling, inserts, work holding, and cutting parameters for maximum efficiency
  • Recommend improvements to tooling, fixturing, machining strategies, and processes
  • Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and process documentation
  • Perform first-piece inspections and support root cause analysis of quality concerns
  • Train and mentor setup machinists and CNC operators on best machining practices
  • Work closely with engineering, programming, quality, and production teams
  • Support new product launches, prototype work, and process validation
  • Maintain machine uptime through proactive troubleshooting and preventative practices
  • Ensure adherence to quality systems, safety standards, and production schedules
What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly skilled Swiss machining professional who thrives in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Swiss CNC machining experience
  • Extensive experience performing complete machine setups
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving tooling, programs, machine conditions, and part quality
  • Experience machining tight-tolerance components
  • Advanced understanding of GD&T
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Experience selecting tooling, inserts, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies
  • Strong understanding of process improvement and cycle time optimization
  • Experience performing precision inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gages, and other precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
