Job Overview
Travel Stepdown RN – 13‑week assignment in Jackson, Wyoming.
Responsibilities- Provide care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations.
- Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
- Observe patient, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors or physicians of patient’s cardiac status and response to interventions.
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies.
- Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
- Initiate patient education plans focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
- Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Coping with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently from other personnel.
- Possess visual acuity and effective communication.
- Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
