As a Senior Sourcing Lead for Indirect Procurement, you will drive enterprise-wide sourcing strategies across key categories including professional services, capital equipment, and software and more. This role supports all key business functions including Operations, Marketing, Engineering, and IT, delivering measurable value through strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cross‑functional partnership.
You will lead complex sourcing initiatives, shape category strategies, and influence senior stakeholders to achieve cost savings, operational efficiency, innovation, and risk mitigation.
Core Responsibilities Category Strategy & Delivery- Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies across:
- Professional & Business Services (consulting, contingent labor, agencies, managed services)
- Capital Equipment & MRO (manufacturing equipment, tooling, facilities, indirect plant spend)
- Technology & Software (SaaS, enterprise applications, IT infrastructure)
- Own and govern the Approved Supplier List (ASL), ensuring it is continuously aligned to evolving business needs and category strategies; partner with functional leaders to qualify, rationalize, and maintain a high‑performing supplier base that supports cost, quality, innovation, and risk objectives.
- Lead end‑to‑end sourcing events including market assessments, RFI/RFP/RFQ, supplier evaluation, and contract execution in partnership with Engineering, IT, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Legal
- Drive value through total cost optimization, demand management, and standardization
- Lead complex commercial negotiations covering pricing structures, SLAs, KPIs, licensing terms, warranties, service levels, and risk provisions (IP, cybersecurity, compliance)
- Consolidate spend, rationalize supplier base, and increase adoption of preferred suppliers and contracts
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the business functions, aligning sourcing strategies to business priorities such as innovation, speed‑to‑market, and operational efficiency
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships across all categories
- Establish and lead supplier performance management programs (QBRs, scorecards, continuous improvement initiatives)
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment on specifications, timelines, and business outcomes
- Utilize procurement and analytics tools to:
- Analyze spend and identify sourcing opportunities
- Segment supply base and assess market dynamics
- Model cost scenarios and inform decision‑making
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee full contract lifecycle management, including execution, renewals, amendments, and performance tracking
- Deliver and report on key metrics such as cost savings, cost avoidance, cycle time, supplier performance, and risk mitigation
- Own the supplier onboarding process and governance for indirect categories, maintaining approval authority over all new supplier additions to ensure alignment with category strategies, risk management standards, and business requirements; partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to validate need, conduct due diligence, and integrate suppliers into the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing / Category Management, with a mix of:
- Professional Services
- Capital Equipment or Manufacturing‑related indirect spend
- IT/Software sourcing
- Strong knowledge of contract structures across services, equipment, and software/licensing models
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross‑functional sourcing initiatives and negotiations
- Strong ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders in a dynamic, matrixed environment
- Experience supporting marketing, engineering, manufacturing, or product‑based organizations strongly preferred
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a hands‑on execution mindset
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, product‑driven environment
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to balance cost, quality, innovation, and speed
