Position Overview
Vehicle Control Systems Engineer – Motorcycles, Wyoming, MN. Propel vehicle control system development and integration of electronic controllers for engine modules, gateways, brake controllers, infotainment, vehicle control modules and wireless modules. Translate business tasks into vehicle‑level system requirements and documentation. Conduct detailed studies and trade‑off analysis of vehicle software control systems with emphasis on safety, reliability, cost. Engage in and lead design reviews, interface across Electrical, Mechanical, Powertrain, Service, Manufacturing, Software, Purchasing and external suppliers, ensuring alignment with program expectations.
Lead process improvement initiatives to align with Functional Safety goals and standards.
• Design or implement controls related to vehicle controls, diagnostics or communication.
• Work with vehicle architectures and communication networks including Classic CAN with 1939 or UDS protocol.
• Generate formal requirements and system model in Matlab or Simulink.
• Test and analyze using electrical or software test and analysis equipment.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting of vehicle control systems when issues arise.
• Provide support to internal test team for system and vehicle‑level validation plans and procedures.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software and Controls Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in vehicle control systems engineering.
- Experience with vehicle control architectures and communication networks.
- Hands‑on experience with Classic CAN, UDS and 1939 protocols.
- Formal requirement generation and systems modeling experience in Matlab or Simulink.
- Proficiency with electrical or software test and analysis equipment.
Competitive salary range $78,000 – $103,000 per year. 401(k) with company match. Health, vision, dental, and PTO benefits.
