Position Summary

The Cab Line Supervisor will manage the workflow, output, and schedule of the department. They will continuously improve production processes and team members’ development. They take initiative to resolve issues quickly and elevate complex problems as appropriate while providing project and line status updates to management and the cab line team.

Essential Functions
  • Manages the workflow, output, and schedule of the department based on the production schedule.
  • Manages communication through department meetings, updating the department information board, status of the production schedule, and direct interaction with leads and employees.
  • Continuously improves production processes by measuring KPIs, determining gaps and areas for improvement, and working cross‑functionally (including Manufacturing Engineering) to develop and execute action plans.
  • Promotes a culture of open communication and trust through employee engagement.
  • Drives a culture of quality by designing and implementing effective control gates and checkpoints throughout the cab line assembly process, ensuring products consistently meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Guides employee development by providing actionable feedback, targeted coaching, and support for training initiatives.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and transparency by consistently demonstrating a commitment to company policies, actively listening to team concerns, and ensuring open lines of communication.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.
Tools to be Utilized

Hand tools, power tools, grinders, cut‑off wheels, and tape measure.

Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology, Quality Assurance, or other manufacturing‑related program preferred.
  • 3+ years of previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • 1+ years in a leadership role, with a proven ability to guide projects or mentor individuals, preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a production environment required.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a production environment preferred.
  • 1+ years of hands‑on fire truck product knowledge from either a manufacturing or fire department perspective preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude required.
Skills
  • Effectively communicate with tact and diplomacy to develop relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information that could affect project trajectories.
  • Communicate goals effectively to a team.
  • Read and work from blueprints/spec books.
  • Read and understand a tape measure accurately.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Math
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Computer
  • Operate Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint at an intermediate level.
Abilities
  • Work professionally with all levels of the Rosenbauer organization, customers, and vendors.
  • Deal with problems involving a variety of variables in non‑standard situations.
  • Proficiently handle internal affairs concerning employee issues and conflicts.
  • Be organized, flexible, and adaptive to evolving and fast‑paced working conditions.
  • Collaborate and work cross‑functionally with multiple departments and functional disciplines.
  • Lead and supervise a team effectively.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records.
  • Identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.
  • Prioritize work and multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
Other Qualifications
  • Driving license – may be required to operate company vehicles to move parts needed from building to building for production purposes.
  • Driving – Own Vehicle – may be required to visit other Rosenbauer sites, trade shows, or for special projects.
  • Hours of work – Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally; overtime as needed to meet the needs of the department.
  • Travel – Local – may be required to attend local meetings offsite.
  • Travel – Overnight – may be required to visit other Rosenbauer sites, trade shows, or for special projects.
