The Final Assembly Technician is responsible for ensuring that the chassis and bumper are built correctly, and that any final steps of production are completed. They will ensure that all wires and hard build components meet minimum specifications for the build.
Essential Functions- Ensure that the fire apparatus chassis is built and functioning correctly.
- Build bumper of the fire truck to meet specifications.
- Ensure that all wires and hard build components meet minimum level for the build.
- Torque bolts to specific settings according to the build specifications.
- Adjust fluid levels to ensure the fire apparatus is functioning properly.
- Perform adjustments to the alignment of the fire apparatus.
- Perform a running test of the fire apparatus to ensure components are functioning properly.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management.

- High school diploma/GED.
- Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
- 2+ years mechanical experience preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Language:
Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books. - Language:
Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately. - Language:
Able to follow written and verbal directions. - Math:
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. - Computer:
Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.
- Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
- Able to proficiently use a tape measure, hand tools, and power tools.
- Able to prioritize work and multitask while adhering to deadlines.
- Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
- Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
- Driving license required.
- Own vehicle required.
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally.
- Overtime as needed to meet the needs of the department.
- Local travel allowed.
