About The Science Zone
The Science Zone is a dynamic non-profit organization committed to delivering high-quality STEAM education to students and families. Our mission is to spark curiosity, elevate science discourse, and inspire interest in STEAM careers across our community.
We achieve this through:
- Educational Programming:
Classes, clubs, field trips, outreach, and camps. - Experiential Learning: A hands‑on museum with interactive exhibits for families.
Ameri Corps members are vital to this mission. They lead camps and classroom lessons, support field trips and outreach, mentor and tutor students, and assist with community education events. Members receive training and are matched with roles that suit their interests and availability. Service terms range from Half-Time to Abbreviated-Time, offering flexibility and personal growth.
Position OverviewAmeri Corps members at The Science Zone help expand access to STEAM education and build confidence and competence in youth. Ideal candidates are passionate about education, youth development, and community engagement. Members serve at The Science Zone or the Natrona County Library, primarily during before/after-school hours and some Saturdays. Applicants may serve during the 2025–2026 school year, summer 2026, or both.
SummerService Option
Summer roles support full-day STEAM camps for ages 5–15 and may include out-of-town outreach, outdoor adventure camps, and immersive science experiences.

Ameri Corps members at The Science Zone engage youth in hands-on STEAM learning through camps, clubs, field trips, and outreach. They support educational programming at The Science Zone or Natrona County Library Host Site, helping build confidence and curiosity in science. Members may serve during the school year or summer, with flexible terms and schedules. Summer roles include full-day camps, outdoor adventures, and outreach.
Members receive training, a stipend, and an education award upon completion. This role is ideal for those passionate about youth development, education, and making a lasting impact in the Casper community.
