About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Embedded Systems Engineer to design, develop, and optimize the firmware and hardware interfaces that power modern medical devices and industrial automation. In this role, you will bridge the gap between software and hardware, ensuring that embedded components operate with high reliability and adhere to strict regulatory standards (such as 21 CFR Part 11 and ISO 13485).
CoreResponsibilities
- System Development: Design and implement embedded software (firmware) for microcontrollers, PLCs, and SoC platforms used in regulated environments.
- Hardware Integration: Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate sensors, actuators, and communication modules (I2C, SPI, UART).
- Testing & Debugging: Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers to troubleshoot system-level issues and ensure real-time performance.
- Lifecycle Documentation: Author technical specifications and validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) to ensure the embedded systems meet GxP and cGMP requirements.
- Risk Management: Conduct functional risk assessments and code audits to identify and mitigate critical-to-quality (CTQ) failures.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering
, or a related technical field (Required). - Experience: 0–5 years of experience in embedded development, firmware engineering, or academic projects involving microcontrollers (STM
32, Arduino, ESP
32). - Technical Skills (Required):
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems) and interrupt-driven design.
- Familiarity with the V-Model and GAMP 5 frameworks for system development.
- Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 regarding electronic records in embedded applications.
- Preferred
Skills: - Experience with PCB design or schematic capture (Altium, KiCad).
- Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink
, or Python for automation testing. - Knowledge of wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN) and IoT security.
