- Architect and implement automation solutions across multiple platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi).
- Oversee electrical/control panel design, component selection, and schematic development in coordination with other electrical designers.
- Develop robust control logic and HMI interfaces for custom machinery, robotics, and integrated production lines.
- Lead the commissioning and startup of control systems on-site, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior controls engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and project engineering teams to define system architecture and resolve cross-disciplinary challenges.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure all designs meet applicable safety and regulatory standards (e.g., UL, CE, NFPA 79).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and documentation standards.
- Interface with customers to understand technical requirements, provide guidance, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in controls engineering and industrial automation.
- Expert-level proficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Rockwell Automation, Siemens, etc.).
- Strong understanding of motion control, robotics, servo systems, and VFDs.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet).
- Proven experience with control system architecture, functional design specifications, and electrical design review.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites for system installation and commissioning (as needed).
Skills:
- Experience with SCADA systems, MES integration, and IIoT technologies.
- Familiarity with robotic integration (e.g., FANUC, ABB, UR).
- Understanding of safety systems and functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849, SIL ratings).
- Project management or team leadership experience.
- Knowledge of programming such as Python, C#, or structured text (IEC 61131-3).
