This is a field-based, hybrid role that sits at the intersection of technical service and commercial growth. As Regional Customer Service Engineer/Technician, you are the face of BMO in the field — the person our customers call when they need help, and the person who turns a routine service visit into the next sale.
You will commission and troubleshoot equipment on location, keep our customers' equipment running at peak performance, and build the kind of trust that opens doors. When you spot an opportunity — a neighboring pad, an expansion, or an operator who hasn't heard of us yet — you act on it: generating leads, making the cold call, and making the cold visit.
You will have the backing of the entire team to keep customers successful and grow the territory.
- Commission, install, troubleshoot, and service BMO's equipment power units on location across your territory
- Diagnose electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation issues in the field — PMSM/PMAC motors, VFDs, PLCs, solar power systems, and instrument-air systems
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers in your region, building durable relationships with production engineers, facilities managers, and field operations teams
- Identify and act on upsell and expansion opportunities — additional units, adjacent pads, new applications — during and after service engagements
- Step into a business-development role when needed: generate leads, conduct cold outreach, and make cold field visits to new operators in your territory
- Capture field intelligence — failure modes, customer feedback, site conditions — and feed it back to the engineering and product teams
- Maintain disciplined CRM records, service documentation, and follow-up
- Collaborate with sales on proposals, demos, and hand-offs, and with engineering on escalations and product improvements
- Hands-on technical capability in at least one of the following: electrical and instrumentation (E&I) work in industrial or field settings; O&G field automation, controls, or SCADA; or engineering/operations experience in upstream oil & gas production and maintenance
- Strong customer-facing skills — a track record of building trust and being someone customers want to work with
- Comfort working independently in remote field environments across a multi-state territory
- Comfort working with a suite of AI tools to document and automate many work processes
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region, and to be based in WY, CO, or UT
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Experience selling, upselling, or generating leads — even informally — alongside a technical or service role
- Familiarity with rotating equipment, compressors, pneumatics, artificial lift, or instrument air
- Existing relationships with E&P operators in BMO's target basins (Rockies, Permian, Mid-Continent, Appalachia, Alberta)
- Comfort holding technical conversations about motors, solar power systems, and EPA emissions / pneumatic-venting regulations
- Background with permanent magnet motors, VFDs, or PLCs
- Experience with predictive maintenance (vibration or acoustic analysis) or edge-intelligent equipment
- A two-year technical degree or a four-year STEM degree (Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or related) — though hands-on field experience can substitute
Location: Hybrid; candidate must be based within 2 hours of driving time to Evanston, WY or Denver, CO.
Travel: Various field and office travel within the assigned territory.
Compensation: Base + commission / upsell incentives, equity participation, 401(k) matching, health benefits, generous PTO, and a flexible schedule.

We began in a garage, driven by a simple and powerful vision: to become the trusted partner for ruggedized, remote operations in oil & gas. We proved it by helping operators reduce emissions with remote, solar-powered solutions, and today we support a growing base of marquee customers across major oil and gas basins. We take exceptional care of our people — with disciplined thoughts and mindful actions — so the team can deliver exceptional products and services to our customers.
