General Description
This position will utilize strictly defined Federal and State policies and procedures to perform in-depth quality assurance audits. The position will investigate randomly selected Unemployment Insurance Benefit Claims to ensure that all aspects of the claim comply with all Federal and State Laws, Statutes, and regulations to help control fraud and system-wide errors in the Unemployment Insurance program (Federally Mandated Program).
EssentialFunctions
- Ensure compliance of individuals, groups, and business entities with guidelines, rules, regulations, statutes, and other requirements.
- Measure the accuracy of the eligibility determination process conducted by eligibility staff.
- Research, plan, revise, and implement systems that will provide an increase in overall program efficiency.
- Perform ongoing reviews of inactive cases and ensure that clients were not terminated or denied benefits incorrectly.
- Work with field office staff, attorneys, other investigators, and program staff to provide requested information relating to a specific case, corrective actions, policy contradictions, and areas needing attention or improvement.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Human Services).
Experience: 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Benefits and Eligibility) or 3-4 years of progressive work experience substitution.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Unemployment Insurance laws, rules, and regulations; ability to work within established timelines.
Knowledge- Knowledge of Federal, State, and program policy and operation procedures.
- Knowledge of research and information gathering techniques.
- Knowledge of computer spreadsheets and word processors.
- Knowledge of interpersonal techniques to use in dealing with a wide variety of individuals.
