GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Veterans' Home of Wyoming is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to provide compassionate care in a home‑like setting using the “greenhouse” model of care. The position is located at the base of the Big Horn Mountains and is eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonus (see notes for eligibility and conditions).

• Assist with activities of daily living and encourage community inclusion.
• Advocate for disabled individuals, communicating their needs and goals.
• Provide daily individual and group recreation and leisure activities.
• Plan and prepare group and special event programming for clients.
• Document weekly progress toward group and intervention participation.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and shift‑change reports.

• Preference for individuals with six (6) months or more healthcare experience.
• Agency requires a current CNA certification.

• Client protocols and therapy interventions.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Specialized sensory programs (olfactory, vestibular, tactile, auditory).
• Mental illnesses and disabilities.
• Program adaptations.
• Recreation and social programming.
• Motivational techniques.

• 1–3 years progressive human services work experience (typically in healthcare) or
  • Associate’s Degree in healthcare or related field.
• No prior experience required when completing a CNA certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
• CNA Certification obtained within twelve (12) months of hire.

• Lift medical/patient equipment up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Work evenings, nights, and/or weekends as scheduled.

• FLSA:
  Non‑Exempt.
• Background check and fingerprinting through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, Department of Family Services, and the FBI.
• Annual influenza vaccination and tuberculosis testing required.
• COVID‑19 rules and regulations to be followed.
• Pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing for safety‑sensitive positions.
