General Description
The Wyoming Department of Health is seeking a Wyoming Cancer Program Screening Program Supervisor who will provide direction and guidance for the Wyoming Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (WBCCEDP) and Wyoming Colorectal Cancer Screening Program (WCCSP) components of the WCP within the Public Health Division. The program is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) grant for the early detection and screening of breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers.
The program assists the Department and outside stakeholders in developing, implementing, and evaluating cancer prevention efforts across Wyoming, furthering the Department's goal of reducing morbidity and mortality associated with cancer.
- Writes, coordinates, implements, and oversees grant activities.
- Directly and indirectly supervise employees, including leadership development, guidance, and consultation.
- Manages the WBCCEDP and WCCSP by developing and administering policy, procedures and programmatic initiatives.
- Designs and executes program activities; formulates, recommends, and implements changes.
- Prepares written and/or verbal reports on program performance.
- Provides feedback related to an annual budget.
- Interprets and ensures compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations as they pertain to the program area and grant guidance.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders and builds strong working relationships.
- Serves as a key liaison with federal stakeholders, the CDC and other groups.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or related field.
Experience: 1–2 years of progressive work experience in health programs with knowledge at the level of a Health Program Specialist OR 4–6 years of progressive work experience in health programs with knowledge at the level of a Health Program Specialist.
Preferences: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, education, public health, public administration or related field with 1–3 years of progressive work experience managing a health services program.

- Public health and prevention, evidence‑based programs, best practices for cancer prevention.
- State system of contracting, budgeting, procurement, payments and HIPAA compliance.
- Building and maintaining partnerships at the state and community level.
- Public health core competencies.
- Federal grant management (application, reporting, review, evaluation).
- CPT codes, medical billing and coding, insurance reimbursement policies and procedures.
- Program evaluation methodologies and frameworks.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
