Coding Auditor Educator

• Engaging in audits to improve documentation and reimbursement processes

• Conduct audits on documentation, coding, and billing for compliance with regulatory requirements
• Develop and deliver training programs based on audit findings to address deficiencies
• Validate coding systems and ensure compliance with DRG/APC structures
• Create and monitor inpatient case mix reports to identify patterns and trends
• Review and interpret medical information to classify it into appropriate coding groups

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
• AHIMA Credentials:
  Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• AAPC Credentials:
  Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), or Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital or physician coding and/or auditing

• Associate's Degree
• 3 years of experience in claims processing and data management
• Background in auditing with strong education/training in coding and reimbursement
