General DescriptionPerforms a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and preparation of state building facilities and grounds. Duties include repairs, adjustments, and installations of complex equipment and fixtures using carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, refrigeration, and other mechanical skills. Performs preventive maintenance and participates in new construction projects. Manages warehouse duties such as receiving, delivering, and inventorying supplies, conducting bi‑annual physical inventories.
This role requires lifting heavy objects and working in uncomfortable positions.
- Perform preventive maintenance on building facilities and grounds; assist other trades personnel on projects, including new construction.
- Operate, repair, adjust, and install complex equipment, vehicles, fixtures, and systems; schedule outside vendors and contractors as needed.
- Assist with monitoring, assessment, and scheduling of all building and grounds maintenance needs.
- Receive, maintain, and conduct inventory of building and grounds supplies and equipment.
- Assist facility occupants with furniture arrangement and removal.
- Direct workflow of all trades assistants and project activities.

Associate's Degree (or experience as indicated below)
0‑2 years of progressive experience in Building and Grounds at the level of a Building and Grounds Assistant; or 2‑4 years of progressive experience with comparable knowledge.
Physical Working Conditions- Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, bodily fluids, bio‑hazards, or potential explosives.
- Ride or operate large complex cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Require bending, lifting, and twisting frequently.
- FLSA:
Non‑Exempt - Annual tuberculosis testing required.
- Compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services COVID‑19 requirements.
- Background check (fingerprints) through Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
