Overview
The Camp Guernsey Billeting Office is seeking a full-time Housekeeper who takes pride in supporting those who serve. This position maintains clean, safe, and welcoming living spaces for service members, staff, and visitors staying on base. The role typically works Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities- Daily maintenance and general cleaning of all billets to ensure a professional and comfortable environment that supports the mission and daily operations of Camp Guernsey.
- Customer service to include ensuring all rooms are cleaned and sanitary according to the SOP standard operating procedure, and providing unit-specific requirements.
- Perform cleaning duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, dusting, and polishing furniture; operate a variety of cleaning machines (vacuum, floor polisher/stripper, carpet shampooer).
- Determine appropriate chemical solutions for cleaning and disinfection; maintain SDS knowledge and required PPE; keep SDS supplies clearly marked and up to date.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms and latrines, including floors and walls.
- Inventory management of cleaning and paper supplies; reorder levels; stock cleaning supplies and linen.
- Observe and identify hazard areas needing repair and notify the manager to submit work orders.
- Sanitize, clean linen and towels, redistribute to correct facilities; track and log quantities of laundry processed.
- Responsible for grounds around lodging areas, snow removal, applying ice melt, and trash removal.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma - Experience:
0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Buildings and Grounds) - OR Education & Experience Substitution: 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Buildings and Grounds)
- Preferred:
High School Diploma and six (6) months of work experience in Buildings and Grounds or Housekeeping - Knowledge: materials, supplies, equipment, and technical cleaning and maintenance methods; knowledge of power and manual tools
- Necessary Special Requirements:
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs; valid driver’s license; ability to operate cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment
- High School Diploma
- Additional education/coursework as described in the position requirements
- Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, and other elements; may handle bodily fluids or bio-hazards
- Must be able to drive and operate large cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Occasional weekends may be required
