Starting pay $35/hour.
Responsibilities- Maintenance and repair of all electrical systems and equipment in a safe, efficient manner
- Carry out fault finding and diagnosis of problems affecting plant and systems
- Perform breakdown repairs whenever required
- Initiate opportunities to improve plant and machinery performance
- Assist in preparing and submitting requirements for spares
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor to identify maintenance and shutdown priorities
- Develop procedures to control effective utilization of electrical, instrument, and PLC systems
- Install and maintain electrical, instrument, and PLC systems including Motor Control Center (MCC) units
- Provide technical support for all users
- Provide PLC programming modifications to improve process safety and production
- Provide after‑hour "on‑call" support for plant on an emergency basis
- Participate in new and existing process development support and safety hazard reviews
- Drive failure analysis of instrument and electrical equipment and implement reliability improvement action items
- Track and coordinate execution of work orders for electrical reliability and Process Safety Controls/Process Safety Management (PSC/PSM) compliance on electrical/instrument systems
- Develop instrument maintenance and reliability skills throughout the maintenance organization
- Implement best practices for maintenance of control and distribution equipment
- Drive the maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with reliability requirements
- Promote a strong belief that all jobs can be performed safely and that no job is worth doing that would risk the health, safety, or welfare of the plant employees or community
- Locate and correct problems (troubleshoot) to restore equipment to operation and design specifications
- Work with software in programmable controllers and distributed controller systems (DCS) to make bypasses and troubleshoot
- Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate measurement
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment/components to replace worn or defective parts
- Lock and tag equipment to make it inoperable and safe to work on
- Use the computer system to create work orders, obtain information of equipment spare parts and create historical data
- Perform predictive and preventive maintenance tasks in the electrical/instrument arena
- Ability to work with computer programs such as Windows, Microsoft utilities program (Excel, Word, etc.) and availability to continuous improvement in the skill
- Work in reliability, especially in the principle of defect elimination
- Inspect and test new motors to accept them for installation operation
- In case of operational motor, test and replace, if necessary, as per PSM principles
- Measure, cut, bend and install tubing, conduit, and associated equipment to provide it for use
- Install electrical bypass (with authorization) to operate selected equipment
- Requisition materials, parts and supplies to have them available to do the work
- Assist with rigging to move heavy equipment
- Run electrical wire to provide power or communication from source to equipment
- Solder wiring or board connections to make permanent connections
- Communicate with operators, mechanics, and engineers to exchange job information
- Write shift logs, maintenance records, inspection sheets, calibration sheets, among others, to communicate and create historical records
- Write and review maintenance procedures to provide them for use by operators and mechanics
- Replace lamps, ballast, fixtures, photocells, etc. to provide correct operation
- Clean work areas to maintain site housekeeping standards
- Perform SAP‑PM transactions related to maintenance work management (as required)
- Associate degree (AD) in Electronics, Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school
- Minimum of three years of experience in electrical/instrumentation maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Electrician Certification is a positive differential
- Must be able to work both day and night shifts, including overtime as required
