Serve Wyoming enhances communities and empowers citizens through the development and promotion of service opportunities. Serve Wyoming promotes collaboration among non‑profit, governmental, and community partners to strengthen volunteerism and address poverty across the state. Located in Casper, Wyoming, Serve Wyoming operates in a community that offers access to outdoor recreation, vibrant local culture, and statewide service opportunities. Serve Wyoming supports organizations addressing poverty through volunteer engagement, capacity building, and Ameri Corps programming.
The VISTA Leader position provides the opportunity for former national service members (those who have completed a full term with Ameri Corps, NCCC, VISTA or Peace Corps) to support the success of VISTA members serving across Wyoming. The Leader will assist with VISTA member onboarding, peer support, resource development, and professional development opportunities while helping strengthen systems that support sustainable volunteer engagement and poverty alleviation efforts.
Through mentorship, training coordination, and resource development, the VISTA Leader will help strengthen the statewide VISTA network and support organizations working to expand services to low‑income communities.
The VISTA Leader will strengthen the capacity of Serve Wyoming and its host organizations by developing sustainable systems, resources, and partnerships that expand services for individuals and communities experiencing poverty. The member will coordinate onboarding resources, facilitate peer learning opportunities, and develop toolkits that support VISTA member success. They will research and create volunteer engagement resources, assist with outreach strategies, analyze volunteer utilization data, and develop templates that strengthen long‑term volunteer management systems.
The member will also research funding opportunities, develop sustainability and fundraising resources, and support partnership and recognition activities that increase organizational capacity. These activities build sustainable infrastructure rather than provide direct service, enabling organizations to expand access to resources, volunteers, and programs that improve economic opportunity and reduce poverty across Wyoming.
