Public Health Nurse
As a Public Health Nurse in Hot Springs County, you’ll be at the forefront of promoting health and preventing disease within your community. Public Health Nursing is a specialized field that goes beyond traditional patient care—it’s about fostering wellness and resilience across populations. In this role, you’ll work closely with individuals, families, and groups to identify health needs, provide essential healthcare services, and connect people with valuable health resources.

You’ll play an integral role in shaping health policies, coordinating health initiatives, and responding to public health emergencies, ensuring that every member of the community has the support they need to thrive.

- Diverse clinical experience across general nursing, infectious disease control, maternal‑child health, and health education.
- Conduct nursing assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and evaluations in line with ANA's Public Health Nursing Standards.
- Arrange and lead community health clinics and health education classes.
- Support public health core functions, prioritizing services that meet community needs.
- Administer adult and child vaccines, provide STI/HIV testing, manage TB testing, and more.
- Provide Ryan White case management, maternal and child home visitation, lactation counseling, and LT‑101 reviews.
- Collaborate with the nurse manager and public health response coordinator on emergency preparedness activities.
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming.
Recent RN graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
Valid driver’s license required.
Education and ExperienceAssociate’s Degree in Nursing required.
0–2 years progressive nursing experience at the Level of LPN, or 3–5 years progressive nursing experience at the Level of LPN if substituting education.
Physical Working Conditions- Lift medical equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Climb stairs to patient homes and drive long distances.
- Travel statewide and to national conferences if requested.
- Work evenings, nights, or weekends as required.
