Public Health Nurse; RN

As a Public Health Nurse in Uinta County, you’ll be at the forefront of promoting health and preventing disease within your community. Public Health Nursing is a specialized field that goes beyond traditional patient care—it’s about fostering wellness and resilience across populations. In this role, you’ll work closely with individuals, families, and groups to identify health needs, provide essential healthcare services, and connect people with valuable health resources.

Our Public Health Nurses deliver a wide range of services tailored to community health, from administering vaccines and offering disease screenings to educating the public on health risks and healthy behaviors. You’ll play an integral role in shaping health policies, coordinating health initiatives, and responding to public health emergencies, ensuring that every member of the community has the support they need to thrive.

• Conduct nursing assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and evaluations in line with ANA's Public Health Nursing Standards.
• Arrange and lead community health clinics and health education classes.
• Support public health core functions, prioritizing services that meet community needs.
• Administer adult and child vaccines, provide STI/HIV testing, manage TB testing, and more.
• Provide Ryan White case management, maternal and child home visitation, lactation counseling, and LT-101 reviews.
• Collaborate with the nurse manager and public health response coordinator on emergency preparedness activities.

• Education
  :
  Associate's Degree in Nursing. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming.
• Experience
  : 0-2 years of progressive nursing experience with knowledge at the level of an LPN; or 3-5 years of progressive nursing experience with knowledge at the level of an LPN if substituting for education.
• Licenses & Certifications
  :
  Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an RN in Wyoming; valid driver’s license required.
• Knowledge
  :
  Knowledge of nursing laws, principles, practices, medical records maintenance, nursing process, medical diagnosis and treatment, public health core functions, and related standards.
• Other
  :
  Ability to meet physical working conditions (lift up to 50 lbs, travel, occasional evenings/nights/weekends).
