The Wyoming Medical Center seeks nurses to provide peri‑anesthesia care in Casper, Wyoming.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards. The RN is accountable for the quality of nursing services, including patient assessments, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation. The role covers pre‑operative preparation, intra‑operative support, and post‑anesthesia recovery (Phase 1 &
2) and includes on‑call rotation duties. Shift length is 4‑10 hours.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural needs; reviews history, diagnostic information, and reports abnormal results to physicians; completes assessments as needed.Formulates a patient‑specific plan of care, including discharge planning; develops realistic, measurable goals in collaboration with patient/family; revises plan as patient status changes.Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health‑care team; complies with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; provides nursing supervision to other licensed nurses and personnel.Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching; revises the plan of care accordingly; evaluates patient progress toward goals.Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, maintaining legible and timely documentation.Provides care based on evidence‑based practice; participates in research, shared leadership, and education of facility personnel; mentors and precepts when appropriate.Contributes to improvement of nursing quality indicators and outcomes; participates in professional organizations.In some roles, supervises staff and workflow within the department.Interacts with all levels of staff and external contacts, including physicians, patients, families, community providers, and clergy; synthesizes information to support patient and family needs.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, or temporary/interim or compact RN licensure.
- BLS certification required.
- At least 1 year of acute‑care RN experience; recent (within 12 months) acute‑care practice required for Banner Registry and Travel acute‑care positions.
- Experience in the clinical area of application is desired.
- Must maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations.
- Home‑health candidates must have a valid driver’s license and active auto insurance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Professional certification.
- Additional related education and/or experience.
* Eligibility for the sign‑on bonus requires 1+ years of RN experience
