The State Park’s Central Construction Office offers a unique summer experience across 39 beautiful State Parks or Historic Sites. This role is ideal for college‑aged or older applicants interested in learning the trades and traveling throughout Wyoming.
DescriptionThe typical employment season runs from mid‑May through mid‑September, with the possibility to begin earlier and/or extend into the fall depending on weather and work schedule.
Essential Functions- Assist with construction and renovation of State Parks and Historic Sites facilities across Wyoming.
- Safely operate vehicles and machinery.
- Safely operate power and hand tools (saws, drills, presses, chainsaws, etc.).
- Follow proper safety procedures and guidelines.
- Follow instructions given by senior staff.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Preferable: at least one year of professional work experience in basic construction and building.
- Knowledge of safely operating a wide variety of power and hand tools.
- Detail‑oriented and thorough in completing assignments.
- Willingness to work on varied assignments each day.
- Ability to manage and complete multiple projects with variable timelines and scopes of work.
- Basic construction and building skill.
- Extensive travel throughout the state is required.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and climb ladders.
- FLSA:
Non‑exempt. - These are temporary seasonal positions: 40 hours per week, 10 hours per day, typically Monday through Thursday.
