How will you do itWe are looking for skilled HVAC Mechanics who have practical work experience in their trade (HVAC piping, plumbing, pipe fitting and/or mechanical equipment service industry).
Mechanics must have practical working experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment. They may be required to satisfactorily pass a special skills examination.
Scope of work shall be limited to commercial HVACR service. Servicemen may partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and absorption machines, open‑drive screw chillers and ammonia systems. Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.

Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service.
Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
What we look for Required- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
- Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for system troubleshooting, repair and aftermarket services for this fast‑growing business.
- Twelve (12) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience in the HVAC industry and industrial petro‑chemical or data‑center vertical environments, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing, and the ability to lead large complex repairs, jobs or retrofits.
- Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers and/or ammonia/hydrocarbon system components.
- Maintain ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.
- Able to install complete systems (chillers, rooftop units, plumbing and all supporting mechanical systems).
- Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, laser, etc. for pumps, fans, compressors.
- Able to use vibration equipment to troubleshoot driveline issues.
- Travel may be required 10% to 20% to support branch customers’ activities, troubleshooting, installation and repair.
- Required to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.

- Will work with other local‑market mechanics, servicemen and apprentices and, when necessary, provide on‑the‑job training.
- Attention to detail through interpersonal, digital and written skills; able to write and communicate to the customer the problem, cause, and corrective actions.
- Able to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
- Self‑starter with a passion/desire to learn and apply on the job.
- Prioritize safety in all forms.
- Universal EPA refrigerant license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license.
Pay Range: $52 hourly. The rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role; exceptional candidates whose unique skills and experiences exceed the typical profile are encouraged to apply.
