Utility Locator

Compensation: $17.00 hourly.

We are looking for individuals to work as locators, performing underground utility locating. No prior locating experience is needed; experienced locators are encouraged to apply. Work involves independent field work with a company‑provided vehicle.

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Thoroughly search designated areas, accurately mark locations, complete necessary documentation, and photograph each locate.
• Work full‑time daytime schedule with a 48‑hour turnaround on many locates.
• Be available for overtime, weekend shifts, weekend on‑call, and on‑call shifts (including nights and weekends) as needed.

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Able to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed.
• Pass a drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to distinguish colors used for wiring and mark underground utilities.
• Ability to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints.
• Strong communication skills with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
