General Description
This position offers a unique opportunity with a less conventional work schedule and the ability to work with a supportive team. Within the assigned dormitory and during active programming hours (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM), the supervisor is responsible for providing supervision, safety, and security for adjudicated male youth ages 12‑21 in a juvenile correctional setting. Duties include offering guidance, mentorship, and support;
implementing appropriate correction and behavioral interventions; teaching and modeling positive skills; and coordinating daily services and activities to ensure a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
- Use cameras and physical visual checks to monitor students while sleeping, maintaining frequent checks.
- Document unusual events.
- Monitor physical plant focusing on safety issues.
- Assist in preparing students during morning hours for cleaning, breakfast, hygiene, physical training, educational group activities, and school.
- Provide support and assistance to students.
- Complete building and perimeter checks frequently.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or crises.
- Apply physical and non‑physical intervention skills in crises where students are hostile, aggressive, or in danger of harming themselves, others, or property.
One‑time $1,000.00 hiring bonus: first installment of $500.00 paid on the last working day of the first month of employment, and a second installment of $500.00 paid after completion of six months. Failure to complete one year of service will result in a full refund.
Qualifications- Knowledge of RIGHT RESPONSE principles.
- Knowledge of physical and non‑physical intervention skills in crises.
- Skills in observation, basic report writing, and verbal/non‑verbal communication.
High School Diploma (or equivalent).
0–1 year of progressive work experience in Youth Services preferred; 1–2 years may substitute for the education requirement.
- Position operates in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations.
- Must remain awake and alert during shift.
- Must complete mandatory State of Wyoming and Wyoming Boys’ School training.
- FLSA:
Non‑Exempt. - Insurance and retirement benefits package.
- All positions require a background check, including fingerprints, processed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the FBI.
