Pavement Marking Technician

A Pavement Marking Technician will be responsible for driving, operating, and maintaining paint/epoxy equipment for the application of pavement markings on highways, roadways, parking areas, and airports.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the layout and application of pavement markings.
  • Operate and change heads on small grinders.
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Lift, carry, and stack materials needed for pavement marking.
  • Proficient in reading maps and pavement marking plans and specifications.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Report to Crew Foreman or Operations Manager, and assist other departments such as striping, traffic control, and sign shop.
  • Maintain a clean shop, yard, equipment, and vehicle.
  • Load, secure, and unload trucks, trailers, and equipment independently.
  • Operate a motor vehicle, hook up trailers, and back up trailers.
  • Wash and clean vehicles and devices used on the job site.
  • Inspect, maintain, fuel, and stock truck, equipment, and vehicles assigned to jobs.
  • Maintain good oral and written English communication skills with co-workers, customers, contractors, and engineers.
  • Work week varies; overtime is required and expected.
  • Organize and maintain inventory.
  • Use basic math skills, including the ability to read a tape measure.
  • Maintain a clean job site.
  • Work in a moderate to loud noise environment.
  • Regularly walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds.
  • Be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, moving equipment, traffic, fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Prepare and submit required daily logs, time sheets, pull sheets, usage sheets, and paperwork on job site documentation that is neat, complete, and accurate; submit receipts on time.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Wages start out with hourly pay/salary based on experience.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • CDL may be required;
    Class A with combo vehicle endorsement is a plus.
  • Able to operate forklift and skid‑steer.
  • Ability to read maps and pavement marking plans and specifications.
  • Basic math skills.
