Join our team as a Heavy Equipment Operator at AEI!
Alexander Excavation, Inc., a leader in Wyoming’s construction industry since 1981, is searching for experienced and motivated heavy equipment operators to join our team. We pride ourselves in delivering high quality residential and commercial projects throughout the state of Wyoming and beyond, with services ranging from demolition, grading, excavation, and utility installations. The heavy equipment operator will perform a wide range of duties related to these services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, dozers, motor graders and compactors.
- Read and interpret grade stakes, maps, blueprints, and drawings to execute site plans accurately.
- Utilize grade control devices to achieve precise tolerances.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during excavation, trenching, and equipment operation.
- Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment checks and address maintenance needs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members for task coordination.
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure project specifications are met.
- Assist pipe layers, laborers, and truck drivers when equipment operation is not required.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Proficient in a variety of heavy machinery
- Must have at least 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience
- Must have general construction experience, heavy civil experience is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid divers license.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
- Knowledge and use of hand and power tools.
- High regard for safety and pride in quality of work.
- Self‑motivated and team player.
- Able to multi‑task, show initiative and ask questions as needed.
- Mandatory pre‑employment as well as random drug screening required

Wages and benefits are negotiable and are dependent upon experience and longevity within the organization
Work Schedule
Full Time 40 Hours a week + (Monday-Thursday)
Truck Driver – CDL Class A/B
Alexander Excavation, Inc., a leader in Wyoming’s construction industry since 1981, is searching for experienced and motivated Truck Drivers to join our team. We pride ourselves in delivering high quality residential and commercial projects throughout the state of Wyoming and beyond, with services ranging from, demolition, grading, excavation, and utility installations. The Truck Driver will perform a wide range of duties related to delivering products and machinery to and from these project sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Report to and receive assignments, instructions, and direction from the Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Managers.
- Performing pre and post trip inspections of all trucks including keeping track of load counts and truck mileage.
- Loading and transportation of heavy equipment to and from construction sites.
- Hauling and unloading materials from local aggregate pits to job locations.
- Operation of water trucks during active construction projects.
- Help ground crews when called upon, including labor activities.
- Operate, observe, and follow all safety procedures and protocols.
- Other duties and activities as directed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Must have current Class A/B CDL licensure.
- Tanker, Doubles, Triples Endorsement preferred.
- Must have a satisfactory driver record with no DWI/DUI convictions in the past three years or any current DWI/DUI charges.
- Winter, mountain, over the road driving experience.
- Able to communicate effectively with others.
- Mechanical background and construction experience preferred.
- Basic reading comprehension and writing skills required.
- Mandatory pre‑employment as well as random drug screening required.
- Able to lift up to 60lbs.
- Able to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions.
- Maintains effective working relationships with other employees.
