Position Summary

The Floater plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a remote private estate. This role provides flexible support across housekeeping, food service, landscaping, hospitality, and general site readiness. As part of a small, collaborative team, the Floater helps ensure the property is consistently clean, welcoming, and well-prepared for family visits, guests, and seasonal needs.

This position requires a self-directed, reliable, and service-oriented individual who can quickly adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.

Essential Responsibilities Residential Cleaning & Guest Space Readiness
  • Clean and prepare guest and family spaces including bedrooms, bathrooms, linens, and common areas.
  • Support turnover activities before and after family visits.
  • Assist with food service, including meal prep support, serving, setup, and post-meal clean-up.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of indoor shared areas.
Grounds & Light Landscaping Support
  • Assist with general landscaping tasks including planting, pruning, watering, weeding, and grounds cleanup.
  • Support outdoor property maintenance including patios, walkways, entryways, and exterior common areas.
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal or weather-related preparation.
Vehicle & Equipment Readiness
  • Clean, fuel, and prepare ranch vehicles, including Polarises and guest‑use vehicles, prior to arrivals.
  • Report maintenance or operational concerns promptly.
Operational Support & Safety
  • Assist with property‑wide preparation activities prior to family or guest stays.
  • Support ad‑hoc projects related to maintenance, organization, events, or seasonal workloads.
  • Transport supplies and materials as needed across the estate.
  • Provide hands‑on support to team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Other Duties
  • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned to support ranch operations.

Required Qualifications , Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Cooperative team member with a positive, service‑driven mindset.

  • Ability to communicate needs, issues, or updates to the Ranch Manager.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding guests, schedules, and property matters.
  • Always demonstrate discretion and professional judgment.

  • Flexibility to adjust to changing guest needs, schedules, and priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability in completing tasks.
Required Certifications And Licenses
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications , Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Experience in hospitality, housekeeping, landscaping, ranch operations, or private estate support.
  • Comfort with basic home‑care tasks, outdoor labor, and general property upkeep.
  • Familiarity with small equipment such as trimmers, blowers, or utility vehicles.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs or assist with light maintenance tasks.

Tools And Equipment
  • Cleaning supplies and basic housekeeping tools.
  • Landscaping tools such as rakes, trimmers, shovels, or blowers.
  • Utility vehicles, including Polarises (training provided).
  • Snow removal equipment, if applicable.
Work Environment
  • Indoor work across multiple ranch residences.
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including walking uneven ground and long distances.
  • Exposure to rural terrain, wildlife, and seasonal climate changes.

Additional Requirements
  • Solid references, background check and drug testing required.
  • Use of personal vehicle required for travel between primary residence and staff house (fuel provided).

    Note:

    All roads leading to the ranch are dirt roads.
  • The expected schedule is 5 days a week (off days may vary based on guest arrival). Flexibility for weekends and holidays when guests are on property.
