We're seeking a dedicated individual to join our team and job share (part time) the responsibility of managing the receiving of direct store deliveries. Job Summary:
As a DSD Receiver at Broulim's, you will be responsible for receiving, verifying, and stocking direct store deliveries from vendors. Your role is crucial in ensuring accurate inventory levels and maintaining the flow of products to the sales floor. Join us in providing excellent customer service and contributing to the efficient operation of our store.
Examples of Duties:
- Receive incoming shipments from vendors, ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliveries.
- Verify received products against purchase orders and invoices, resolving any discrepancies.
- Maintain healthy relationships between vendors and the store.
- Unload and sort incoming merchandise, organizing products for efficient stocking.
- Stock shelves and displays with received products, following store procedures and merchandising guidelines.
- Mark down damages and overstocked grocery and nonfood items while maintaining a clean and organized markdown shelf.
- Assist scanning with hanging price changes and TPRs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the receiving area, including storage and disposal of packaging materials.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, store management, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Monitor vendor product dates.
Knowledge:
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and receiving procedures.
- Familiarity with scanning equipment and inventory management software.
- Understanding of safety protocols for handling and storing products.
Skills:
- Attention to detail and accuracy in verifying shipments and recording inventory.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
Abilities:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy boxes and packages.
- Adaptability to work in various temperature conditions (e.g., freezer, cooler).
- Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and team members.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the success of the store.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, shipping, or inventory management is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is advantageous but not required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
