Job Description
Position:
General Maintenance Technician.
The position of General Maintenance Technician plays a key role in creating a welcoming and seamless experience for all guests. This job description focuses on the expectations for the role and outlines required skill sets, qualifications, certifications, and educational background.
Educational Background- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or trade certification is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
- 3‑5 years of experience in general maintenance or related fields preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and IT troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with safety standards and building codes.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs in physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Refined problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of building systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical issues such as outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
- Address plumbing concerns including leaks, clogs, and fixture installations.
- Complete basic carpentry tasks including drywall repair, door adjustments, and hardware replacements.
- Assist with basic IT tasks such as setting up office equipment, running low‑voltage cabling, or working with network hardware under supervision.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety guidelines and company policies.
- Collaborate with external vendors or contractors when specialized services are required.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Prepare to work indoors and outdoors.
- Prepare to help with snow shoveling, plowing, and salting during winter.
- Hourly wage $17–$21 based on experience.
- Housing assistance may be available per occupancy.
