Controls Systems Technician 3 – Riverton, WY

- Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Respond to basic warranty calls and provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Load system‑level controller software and perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.).
- Complete all required commissioning documentation and keep management or JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
- Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation.
- Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities and preparing quotes.
- Load controller software and perform basic commissioning.
- Run diagnostics and document results.
- Calibration with test equipment.
- Maintain documentation and communication with stakeholders.
- Follow safety practices and training.
- Support recommendation and quoting processes.
- 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field, or at least 4 years of industry experience, or experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems.
- In‑depth knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical building automation equipment.
- Proficient PC experience and ability to program HVAC related software.
$29.13 – $40.09 per hour, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
