Industrial Electrician

Job Summary

The primary functions of the electrician include but are not limited to troubleshooting and ensuring quality repairs to plant equipment and electrical systems in a safe, efficient and productive manner. This position will work 6am-4pm; some weekends may be required.

• Follow all safety and environmental rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by company policies and MSHA.
• Follow all company policies and local, state and federal regulations for safe working procedures.
• Maintain electronic and process control equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC motor controls and drives.
• Design, install, maintain and repair overhead high voltage power lines.
• Work closely with the engineering group and outside contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete repairs, upgrades and capital improvement projects.
• Assist other electricians as needed and complete special projects.
• May be responsible for welding associated with the above duties.
• Operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform preventive maintenance and pre‑shift inspections; repair or clean mobile equipment as needed.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance of self, shop and work areas.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.

• Safe work history and positive attitude toward safety.
• Electrician with 1–2 years of industrial electrical experience or more.
• Actively working toward an MSHA electrical certification.
• Ability to work on high voltage systems under supervision.
• Ability to perform ground bed and ground continuity resistance testing.
• Ability to read and comprehend electrical wiring schematics.
• Technical electrical education helpful; degree not required.
• Willingly on call and willing to work flexible schedules, including swing shift, graveyard shift, overtime, and weekends as required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong verbal, written, and comprehension communication skills.
• Willingness to perform heavy labor, work outdoors in all weather extremes, and support team collaboration.

• Lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.
• Climb and navigate stairs and ladders repeatedly.
• Bend, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, and use vibration producing tools frequently.
• Tolerate outdoor work in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
• Reach, squat, and stand/walk/sit for prolonged periods; walk on uneven surfaces.
