Title: Electrician – Truck Shop

Location: Wright, WY, US (N Antelope/Rochelle Mine)

We are currently seeking an Electrician for the Truck Shop to join our maintenance team at North Antelope Rochelle Mine (NARM). NARM is the U.S. largest surface coal mine located in Wright, Wyoming, producing high‑quality thermal coal that is loaded onto haul trucks and shipped by rail.

Electricians at the Truck Shop are responsible for inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on large mining haul trucks, including Komatsu 930-4/5, 960;
Liebherr T282; and Letourneau 1800/2350. This role supports safe and efficient mining operations by maximizing truck availability, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining high‑quality workmanship in a shop environment.

• Follow all MSHA regulations, company policies, and safe work procedures.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on haul trucks, including starting/charging systems, lighting, sensors, on‑board monitoring systems, wiring harnesses, connectors, junction boxes, propulsion systems, wheel motors, main alternators, power stacks, choppers, etc.
• Maintain and troubleshoot electronic control modules, on‑board diagnostics, and electric drive systems (where applicable).
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce unscheduled downtime.
• Diagnose faults using OEM diagnostic software, service tools, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Identify root causes of electrical failures and implement effective repairs.
• Support troubleshooting of intermittent and complex system faults.
• Repair or replace alternators, starters, sensors, switches, relays, control modules, batteries, and battery management systems.
• Perform wiring repairs, terminations, and harness replacements.
• Ensure all repairs meet OEM and company standards.
• Primarily work in the truck shop but support field repairs as needed.
• Assist with equipment change‑outs and major component replacements.
• Coordinate with mechanics, planners, and supervisors on repair timelines.
• Accurately complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
• Communicate equipment status, delays, and parts needs clearly.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong knowledge of 12V/24V DC electrical systems, basic AC systems (as applicable to shop equipment), electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with CAN bus systems and electronic controls.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools (multimeter, test light, amp clamp).
• 2–5 years of heavy equipment or diesel electrical experience (preferred).
• Experience with large mining haul trucks or similar heavy equipment preferred.
• MSHA Surface Certification (Part 46 or 48). If candidate does not have an MSHA Electrical card, employee will be required to obtain one within two years of employment.
• OEM haul truck electrical training preferred.

• Stand for up to 4 hours per shift.
• Be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles.
• Work from elevated positions, walk/climb stairs and ladders, and work on and off equipment.
• Wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other PPE as required by Company and MSHA.
• Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions; maintain good hand‑to‑eye coordination.
• Lift/raise 50 lbs without mechanical assistance frequently.
• Work in extreme conditions such as changing weather, dust, mud, varying noise levels, light/dark variations, artificial light, and confined areas.
• Work various shifts including days, evenings, nights, rotating schedules, weekends, and holidays.
