About the Role
We are currently seeking a Welder to join our Maintenance team at the North Antelope Rochelle Mine (NARM). NARM is the largest surface coal mine in the US, located in Wright, Wyoming. This role will perform welding and mechanical maintenance on a variety of heavy and light duty equipment including haul trucks, dozers, loaders, blades, scrapers, rubber tire dozers, and other mining equipment.

- Perform welding and mechanical repairs on heavy mining equipment such as front-end loaders, haul trucks, mining support equipment, shovels, draglines, excavators, and drills.
- Required welding repairs include gusset fabrication, bore buildup, handrail and ladder repair, wear plate removal and installation, cutting edge, teeth and adaptor removal, shovel component buildup, and crack maintenance repair.
- Mechanical repairs include minor maintenance such as wash-downs, oil and filter changes, air filter changes, fuel filter changes, and bleed-out fuel systems on diesel engines.
- Operate lube/fuel truck as needed to fuel/lube/inspect other equipment at the mine site.
- Change out minor components such as batteries, starters, alternators, battery cables and V-belts.
- Conduct safety observations and complete safety interactions monthly.
- Other duties as assigned by the Company.
This position may require working weekends, holidays, or another shift as deemed necessary. Benefit eligibility starts on your first day of work and includes 401(k) matching, medical, dental, and vision health plans with minimal cost to the employee.
Qualifications- Three years of heavy equipment maintenance experience in mining or two years of mechanical or welding vo-tech degree.
- Work safely and promote safe behavior in others.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication with mine personnel, verbal and written skills.
- Ability to listen and follow direction.
- Ability to stand for up to 4 hours per shift.
- Ability to sit for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles.
- Ability to work from elevated positions, walk/climb stairs, and climb on and off equipment and ladders.
- Ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions and have rapid reflex movements of arms and legs and good hand to eye coordination.
- Ability to lift/raise 10‑50 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the work shift.
- Ability to work in extreme conditions, including changing weather, dust, mud, varying noise levels, light/dark variations, and around artificial light and in confined work areas.
- The job requires working various shifts, including days, evenings, nights with rotating schedules, weekends, and holidays.
