We are seeking a Mechanic Helper to serve as a field oiler/lube technician while assisting with the repair and maintenance of heavy mining equipment, haul trucks, and facilities. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys working outdoors, troubleshooting equipment, and learning new skills in a mining environment.
What You'll Do- Perform preventative maintenance, lubrication, fueling, and inspections on mine equipment
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and haul trucks
- Identify and repair electrical issues, hydraulic hose failures, and oil leaks
- Use computer diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment problems
- Perform welding and basic fabrication work as needed
- Complete pre- and post-shift inspections and PMs
- Communicate maintenance needs and safety concerns to supervisors and team members
- Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally responsible work area
- Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned
- Current CDL with Tanker, Doubles, and Haz Mat endorsements required
- Welding certification may be required
- 6 months to 1 year of preventative maintenance experience preferred
- General mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment
- Basic welding and metalworking skills
- Basic computer and math skills
- Strong communication and recordkeeping abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Regular exposure to dust, noise, machinery, and mobile equipment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to wear required PPE and comply with all safety requirements
