Instrumentation Technician

Plains is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to support reliable, safe operation of our crude oil and NGL pipeline and terminal assets. In this field-based role, you will install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain transmitters, analyzers, control valves, PLCs, and related instrumentation used for measurement, control, and safety systems. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, support commissioning and upgrades, and ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation for pipeline and terminal operations
• Troubleshoot PLCs, transmitters, analyzers, and control systems to ensure reliability
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on measurement and monitoring equipment
• Support commissioning, testing, and upgrades of instrumentation systems
• Document maintenance activities, calibration records, and compliance reports
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to improve system performance and safety
• Follow Plains' safety procedures, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in on-call support and respond to instrumentation issues in the field
