The Wyoming Department of Corrections, Wyoming Women’s Center in Lusk, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Caseworker
. In this important role, you will provide support and guidance to incarcerated individuals while helping facilitate positive change and successful reintegration into society.
A Caseworker manages an assigned caseload of inmates within the correctional facility and meets with them regularly to review goals, progress, and programming needs. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of parole, work release, and treatment plans; maintaining accurate case records; coordinating services; and working collaboratively with facility staff and community partners.
The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and self-directed, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. This position requires the ability to establish appropriate professional boundaries, manage multiple priorities, and handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Classifies patients/students/inmates and completes risk management assessment for program and housing placement and makes referrals based on need.
- Delivers evidence-based programs.
- Responsible for individualized case planning, monitoring, and reporting correspondence, contacts, and case notes.
- Responsible for the duties of casework management, including planning and production in all facets of programming and associated documentation.
- Administers risk/needs assessments.
- Works with offenders to develop pro-social behaviors and to prepare inmates for successful re-entry into society.
- Prepares, organizes, schedules, and implements cognitive-behavioral programming and individual interventions.
- Monitors inmate compliance with established goals and objectives; updates case plans as needed.
- Facilitates compliance with court-ordered recommendations and parole board actions for offenders.
- Facilitates attorney-client phone calls and assists security in the day-to-day operations of the unit.
Preference may be given to applicants with a background in Corrections.
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of human behavior, motivation, and interpersonal behavior.
- Knowledge of the varied techniques of programming/education.
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices.
- Knowledge of interviewing and counseling techniques.
- Knowledge of current social, economic, and health problems and community resources.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Social Services)
Experience:0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Casework)
OR Education & Experience Substitution:3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Casework)

PHYSICALWORKING CONDITIONS:
- This position typically involves sitting for extended periods, with regular walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and occasional driving.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and grasp items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Regularly walks and stands on concrete floors.
- Frequent typing and other repetitive motions are required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively through speaking and hearing.
- Requires sufficient visual ability to analyze data and figures, use a computer, review documents, and perform extensive reading.
- Must be able to work safely and professionally in a correctional environment with incarcerated individuals.
