Final compensation structure will be determined based on experience, PGA status, and assigned responsibilities.

Position Overview
The Golf Professional is responsible for the day-to-day administration and execution of golf operations in accordance with PGA of America standards and facility policies. This position supports the overall success of the golf facility through leadership in golf shop operations, including tee time reservations, retail management, equipment rentals, customer service, tournament operations, and coordination with course maintenance, Town Administration and Golf Board.
The role emphasizes player development, operational efficiency, and an exceptional golf experience for all patrons.
- Administer daily golf operations, including tee sheet control, pace of play management, and coordination of play.
- Supervise, train, and schedule golf shop personnel, starters, and rangers in accordance with PGA service standards.
- Assist with the oversight, operation, and care of the golf car fleet.
- Manage driving range operations, ensuring proper setup, safety compliance, and ball inventory control.
- Serve as a primary ambassador of the golf facility, delivering superior customer service consistent with PGA best practices.
- Actively engage with players to enhance the overall golf experience and build positive relationships.
- Address customer concerns and special requests professionally and efficiently.
- Promote lessons, programs, leagues, events, and retail offerings to support participation and revenue growth.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct tournaments, leagues, outings, and charity events.
- Prepare pairings, scorecards, hole assignments, rules sheets, and scoring using recognized tournament software.
- Coordinate course setup, rules, and event logistics with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure proper playability and conditions.
- Manage all aspects of the golf shop, including inventory management, merchandising, purchasing, and sales.
- Utilize PGA retail principles to maximize sales, margins, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain professional and visually appealing merchandising displays and product rotations.
- Provide knowledgeable equipment and apparel recommendations to customers.
- Assist with budgeting, financial tracking, payroll coordination, and reporting related to golf operations.
- Maintain accurate records for tournaments, events, retail operations, and daily activities.
- Ensure compliance with PGA of America standards, facility policies, and applicable regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the Golf Course Superintendent and management team to ensure quality course conditions and operational alignment.
- Provide feedback regarding course setup, conditions, and golfer experience.
- Support outside services operations and uphold presentation and service standards throughout the facility.
- PGA of America Class A Member or Associate/Apprentice actively enrolled in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and instructional skills consistent with PGA service standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of golf operations, tournament administration, retail merchandising, and golf equipment.
- Proven customer service orientation with leadership or supervisory experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and tournament-related hours.
- Duties are performed primarily outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Approximately 40 hours per week throughout the golf season
- Performing the essential functions of this position may require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds to move objects and operate equipment
