Position: Concrete Laborer – Wyomissing, PA Apply Now

Location
- Wyomissing, Pennsylvania

The Laborer will perform general tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. The Laborer will be required to clean and prepare job sites before and after the project is complete. This position will also assist the Skilled Laborers and Carpenters at a job site.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

( Incidental  job duties may be included but

  • Assist the Carpenters and the Skilled Laborers at the site as directed.
  • Performs various physical duties as assigned.
  • Maintain all safety standards.
  • Required to handle job site material. Must move, secure, load or unload materials as directed.
  • Moves items from place to place, according to direction from the Foreman or Job Superintendent.
  • Responsible for the placement of concrete at the jobsite for ftgs, slabs, decks, piers, and small walls using shovels, rakes, or wheelbarrows.
  • At times will be required to grade stone and subgrade stone.
  • Responsible to unroll and roll up blankets used at the job site.
  • Required to strip forms as directed.
  • Responsible to cleanup job site, stacking/banding materials and trash and removal of the trash and debris.
  • Build and develop trusting relationships with current customers and seek to identify opportunities to grow our customer base and build positive relationships.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

(Include necessary licenses and specialized training.)

  • High school diploma is an asset
  • Previous experience, especially in concrete industry, preferred
  • Proven ability to follow directions.
  • Must be able to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
  • Experience displaying attention to detail and being always alert to ensure safety
  • Proven ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Must be able to stand, bend, climb and kneel for prolonged periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work safely in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.

Position will require that employee have manual dexterity, good sense of balance and excellent hand-eye coordination. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
